Elmer L. Fisher, 90, of Covington, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at Caldwell House of Troy. He was born May 31, 1927, near Covington, to the late Harley Medford and Sarah (Holfinger) Fisher. He married Juanita Mae (Bowser) Fisher on August 8, 1948; she preceded him in death on July 3, 2014.
Mr. Fisher will be missed and remembered by his children and their spouses, Donald & Cyndi Fisher of Covington, Marlene & Elwood “Buck” Siler of Houston, Jerry & Marilyn Fisher of Piqua, Barb Landes, accepted into the family as a daughter, of Marion, Penn.; 15 grandchildren and spouses, Aaron Fisher, Wade & Trixie Fisher, Bethany & Scott Delk, Melissa & Keith Frantz, Jeanne & Grant Garber, Seth & Janine Fisher, Crissa & Brandon Heuing, Jacalyn & Nick Gaier, Trent & Krista Fisher, Gordon Fisher, Sheldon & Beth Fisher, Julie & Trafford Slothour, Michael & Lindsey Landes, Amanda & Paul Shippers, Ryan & Dawn Landes; 40 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Alice Peters of New Paris, Carolyn & Larry Holsinger of Tipp City, and Nancy Bowser of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamin Fisher; a great-grandson, Ivan Slothour; and brothers Lowell & Lola Fisher, John & Norma Fisher, and an infant brother.
Elmer was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Covington District.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 Farrington Rd., Covington. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice of Dayton.
