Omar Ivan Yoder, 90, of Covington, formerly of West Milton, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Caldwell House of Troy. He was born March 31, 1928, in Winchester, Indiana, to the late Rufus and Berla (Boone) Yoder. He married Doloris M. Garber on August 8, 1951; she survives.
Omar will also be missed and remembered by his daughters, Junell (Mike) Lynch of Covington, and Bonita (Kenneth) Rogers of Covington; a sister, Chloe (Dave) Suter of Greenville; a brother, Lester (Sheila) Yoder of Greenville; four grandchildren, Megan (Bronson) Koffer, Josie (Lee) Angle, Tyler Lynch, and Jared Rogers; nine great-grandchildren, Banks, Avery, Hollan, Boston, Quincy, Cooper, Braxton, Taylor Jo, and Ritter; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Phyllis) Garber of Arcanum. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ted Rogers; two brothers, Joe and Carl Yoder; and one sister, Joan Mohler.
Mr. Yoder retired as the service manager from Weiler Welding of Dayton. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church-New Conference, Sugar Grove District.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 Farrington Road, Covington. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
