Anna May Hirt

Anna May (Bowman) Hirt, 77, of Troy, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Grove) Bowman, born May 17, 1942, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019.  She was married to Richard Lee Hirt on August 27, 1961.  This union was blessed with five children, Wylena (David) Hahn of Troy, Harvey (Jan) Hirt of Auburndale, Fla., Wanda Anderson of Winter Park, Fla., Sherilyn (Darren) Eichman of Garnett, Kan., and Rochelle (Jason) Phillips of Fairborn.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, her children, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Norman Bowman (Gladys), sister Maxine Jamison, sister-in-laws Fern Miller and Bernice Mason; brother-in-laws Vernon Hirt (Donna), Keith Hirt (Marilyn), and nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Ruby Bowman, brother Glen Bowman (Gladys), sister Velma Gish Yost (David, Lowell), brother-in-law Donald Jamison, one nephew and one niece, brother-in-laws Melvin Miller and Keith Mason, and infant sister-in-law Norma Hirt.

Anna May will be remembered for her witness to those around her of Jesus and his love to all.  She had a love for everyone.  She accepted Jesus as her personal savior at the age of 15 and attended Vineyard Fellowship in Bradford.  Anna May enjoyed gardening and flowers, as well as reading and writing.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at CornerStone Dunkard Brethren Church, 5430 Greenville Falls-Clayton Rd, Covington, with ministers Micah Turner and Rich Deaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Covington.  Friends may call from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, P.O.
