Asa Swabb, 25, formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024. He was born May 5, 1999, in Salem, Oregon, and was adopted by his parents, Justin C. and Jacqueline “Jackie”(Monnin) Swabb. They survive in Covington. 

He is also survived by siblings Danielle Swabb and Philip Swabb of Covington; half-brother Elias Humphreys of Scio, Ore.; his grandparents, Donna & Glenn Monnin of Covington, Jack & Joy Swabb of Troy, and Marge Henning of Mill City, Ore. Asa is also survived by his biological parents, Cole Humphreys and Crystal Shinall of Oregon; and aunts and uncles, Joyce & Keith Kittel, Allen & Michele Monnin, Ben & T.J. Monnin, Jennifer & Tim Kinder and Alisha & Ricky Young. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Molly Humphreys.

Asa grew up in Covington from age four, and was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. In his youth, he enjoyed playing football for the Little Buccs and fishing with his dad. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 6925 W. U.S. Rt. 36, Covington, with Rev. Ronald Haft officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter. Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington, and online condolences may be left for the Swabb family at moorefh.com.
