Age 92, 0f Covington, formerly of Sutherlin, OR, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Covington Care Center. He was born November 5, 1918, in Newton Twp, Oh, to his parents Milton Melvin & Edna (Niesley) Buckingham. Bobby graduated from Covington High School. He was a US Army veteran and served under General Patton during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and loved model trains. Bobby is survived by his loving wife Helen Marie (Smith); daughters and son-in-law Patricia Royer of Greenville and Virginia & Jack Brown of Bradford; sister Shirley Pitsenbarger of Versailles; grandchildren Paul & Rachel Brown, Jackie Bell, Lisa & Doug Ruley, James & Chanda Brown, Kelly & Cheryl Brown, Sarah & Jon Fries, Debra Warner, Suzanne & Larry Brown, Karen Warner Miller, Scott & Lisa Warner, Michael Warner; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Helen Downey, Doris Jean Wenrick, Maxine Slade, Dorthea Shappie, Ruth Weldy; brothers Billie Joe and Donald Buckingham. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 10 S. High St, Covington. Pastor Paul Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
