Carol Pence

Carol J. Pence, 80, of Covington, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2025, at her residence. She was born August 21, 1945, in Dayton, to the late Eldon Brown and Virginia (Spitler) Thompson. She married Kenny W. Pence Jr. on Feburary 18, 1983; he preceded her in death on November 13, 2013.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Susan (Steve) Richards of Covington and Steffanie Edwards of Covington; four granddaughters, Mackenzie (Tobin) Eicher, Bethany (Ronnie) Hoelscher, Amber (Jayden) Groppi and Sienna Edwards (fiancé Triston Francis); six great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ronnie Brown (Linda Fick) of Covington, Darlene (Paul) Kenworthy of Covington, and Lisa (Larry) Hammond of Fla.; in-laws Keith Locker and Terri Brown; special friend Chuck Shuman of Pleasant Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Shirley Locker and Terry Brown.

Carol was a 1963 graduate of Newton High School and had worked over the years for Terra and The Vault clothing store in Covington. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, trips to the casino, playing scratch-offs, and traveling. Carol will be remembered as a no-nonsense lady, the life of the party, and was always the one to make everyone laugh.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Jon Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m.-12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
