Carolyn Flora

Carolyn S. Austin Flora, 66, of Bradford, passed away late Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023, at her son's residence. She was born February 22, 1957, in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late Odell and Joanna (Rogers) Bowman. She married Charles N. Austin on March 2, 1975; he preceded her in death on October 13, 2017. She then married Darrell F. Flora on September 29, 2019; he survives.

She will also be missed and remembered by three sons, Wendell (Janet) Austin of Bradford, Bradley (Monica) Austin of Glade Hill, Va. and Anthony (Leah) Austin of Greenville; stepchildren Gabriel (Sarah L.) Flora of Bradford, Jonathan (Sarah J.) Flora of Covington, Jeremy (Joni) Flora of Covington, Dean (Tricia) Flora of Bradford, Kristopher Flora of Bradford and Anndrea (Kody) Peters of Covington; her mother-in-law, Eunice Austin Wilt of Rocky Mount, Va.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Helen Bowman of Glade Hill, Va., Diane (Darrell) Flora and Gerald (Martha) Bowman, all of Boones Mill, Va., and Glenna (Jeff) Bayer of Pleasant Hill; siblings-in-law, Debra (David) Ellis, Phillip Austin, Marilyn (Mark) Frey, Duane (Kim) Flora and John (Ellen) Flora; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Carolyn was a homemaker, worked for L&C Plastic Bags, and also was a caregiver for others. She was a member of the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, at the Flora residence, 8512 W. St. Rt. 185, Bradford. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery near Gettysburg. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. at the residence. Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington.
