Colleen (Spencer) Seman, 74, passed away early Sunday morning, July 21, 2024, at Brookdale of Troy. She spent most of her life living in Covington, Ohio. Colleen was born February 26, 1950, in Fletcher, to the late Clarence and Isabel (Gabbard) Spencer. Her childhood was spent in Bradford, Ohio. She married Richard Seman on December 28, 1966.
She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her world, and she spent her entire life nurturing and caring for her siblings, husband Richard, their two children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She always had a soft spot for the many dogs and recent cats that entered her heart and home. She was a kind and caring person who always put the needs of others before her own. Colleen was a fantastic cook and enjoyed gardening and reading; although her true passion was crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brothers Rufus and Woody; sisters Mary, Mert, Carol and Wonda; and brothers Virgil, Roy and Bob. She is survived by her husband Richard; daughter Ronda (John) Pritchard; and son Rick (Tina) Seman. Also left to cherish her memory is brother Ed (Marla) Spencer; brother-in-law Dale Adams; and many nieces and nephews. Grandma will be missed by Lauren (Cynthia) Seman, Hannah Pritchard, Sam (Shannon) Pritchard and by great-grandsons Christian Seman and Otis Pritchard. All of her sage advice, funny stories, and wisdom will be carried on by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Chaplain Ric Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m-1 p.m. Thursday to celebrate Colleen’s life. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice, and especially April Smith, for caring for Colleen in the past 11 months. Thank you to the staff and nurses at Brookdale for caring for her during her brief stay in their care. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Miami Valley Alzheimer’s Association in Colleen’s memory would be a wonderful way to honor this incredible human being that blessed the lives of all those she knew. Online condolences may be left for the Seman family at moorefh.com.
