Dale Bancroft

July 9, 1936 — May 21, 2023

Dale Richard Bancroft, son of Paul Richard Bancroft and Nellie (Mayne) Bancroft, was born in Piqua, Ohio, on July 9, 1936. He passed away on May 21, 2023, at a hospice house in Mesa, Arizona, after a battle with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Anne Roberts.

He is survived by his son, Steven Richard Bancroft and wife Karen of Gilbert, Arizona, and adopted daughter Duska Bancroft of Tempe, Arizona; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Dale graduated from Covington High School in 1954. He married Linda Graham, also of Covington, in 1958. In the spring of 1961, he moved his young family to Arizona and settled in Apache Junction in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. Dale went to work for Motorola. Several years later, he started his own successful recycling business. He enjoyed owning and training horses for trail riding in the desert and nearby mountains.

Years after his marriage to Linda ended, Dale relocated to Old Mexico where he came to love the Mexican culture and people. He lived there on and off for many years, until health reasons caused him to move back to Arizona to be closer to family. Dale was always an independent and adventurous man. He lived a full life his way.
