Danny Lee “Dan” Padgett, 62, of Tipp City, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at his residence. He was born January 30, 1957, in Dayton, to the late Lee Padgett and the late Edna (Rawlins) Padgett Hopkins. Dan married his wife of 35 years, Debra L. “Debi” (Kiehl) Padgett on October 15, 1983; she survives.
Dan will also be missed and remembered by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Bob” & Jessica Padgett of Corbin, Ky., Daniel “Logan” Padgett of Tipp City, Derek & Heather Padgett of Englewood; five grandchildren, Ella, Taylin, Jonah, Braxton & Lucas; his stepfather, Robert Hopkins of Burnside, Ky.; his siblings, Jacqueline & Bruce Stanton of Trotwood, Delbert Hopkins of Burnside, Ky., Robert Hopkins of Burnside, Ky., Lisa Hopkins-French & Mickie French of Conroe, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and extended family members.
Dan attended Miamisburg High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong entrepreneur, salesman, and inventor. He owned multiple businesses, including Padgett Trucking and A-Plus Equine Products currently. Dan was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #47 of Massillon and was a charter member of the Widows Sons Masonic motorcycle club. He attended Elevation Point Church, was a Miami County 4-H advisor, and was a past board member and judge for the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association. Dan was a people person, enjoyed working with others, and had a knack for making everyone he met leave with a smile.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastors Ken VanHoose and Jim Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elevation Point Church, 1260 S.
