Dennis Carity

Dennis L. Carity, 80, of Piqua, passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 19, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born April 19, 1944, in Troy, the only child of the late Darrel & Bertha (Fracony) Fogt. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Ann (Bausman) Carity on March 20, 1965; she survives.

He will also be missed and remembered by his daughter, Tracy (Brent) McKinney of Piqua; three grandchildren, Logan (Hannah) McKinney of Piqua, Lexie McKinney of Huber Heights and Tanner (Cassidy) McKinney of Piqua; and his first great-grandchild on the way.

After graduating high school in 1962, Dennis worked at Monarch Machine & Tool for several years. After getting laid off, he went to work at Hunt Beverage Pepsi-Cola as a route salesman. He was a hardworking man who rarely missed a day of work, retiring after 34 years of service in 2003. Dennis served his country in the Air Force Reserve for six years during the Vietnam War.

He was also a member of Covington Presbyterian Church, the Piqua Kiwanis Club and Covington Eagles. In his retirement years, he enjoyed walking at the Piqua Mall with his best friend of 70 years, Mike Fogt. His three grandchildren were the light of his life. Taking them to Disney World several times, fishing trips in Michigan, and camping on the East Coast were memorable experiences they shared. 

Funeral services to honor his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 23, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
