Don Zell

Don W. Zell, 79, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, after a six-month battle with cancer. Don was born February 14, 1944, in Sidney, to the late Carl & Mary Ellen (Hughes) Zell.

A graduate of Troy High School, Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra K. (Trappe) Zell; his three children, Shannon (Barbara) Zell, Tricia Zell, and Coleman Zell; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene (Vonda) Zell; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Don retired from Hobart Corp./PMI after 32 years of service.

Don was a very humble man who didn’t want a visitation or service, so there will be a celebration of his life from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 17 at the Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles #3998, 715 E. Broadway, Covington. Moore Funeral Home in Covington is aiding the family with his final wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
