Dwaine Palser

Dwaine Palser was born September 23, 1941 and passed peacefully in his sleep at home on January 8, 2024 at the age of 82 following complications from a stroke in July. He was married to his beloved wife Nancy for 44 years. They were married on July 7, 1979 in Immanuel Church of Christ in Kettlersville, Ohio. Next to his wife, his best buddy was his dog Sparky (deceased).

Together they had five children: Teresa May-Benson (Adrian-deceased), Robert May, Jr., Chris Palser (Pam), Paul Palser (Dawn) and Craig Palser (Kim) and his daughter Michelle Lynn Palser (deceased). He and Nancy had ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He grew up and lived in Covington for the majority of his life. He was a member of Covington Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where he served as an Elder and Deacon.

He worked for many years at Stillwater Technologies in Troy as a machinist and truck driver until he retired and then worked part time at Concept Tool for several years. Dwaine was a Charter member of the Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles 3998. He loved to camp, work on numerous house remodeling projects (indoors and outdoors); remodeling virtually all of their home over the course of their marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruby Palser, his sister Edith (Corky) and his bonus brother Dwaine Shawver.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 15, at Covington Presbyterian Church, 30 N. Pearl St., Covington, with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Presbyterian Church, 30 N. Pearl St., Covington, OH 45318; or St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews: Rhys Benson, Justin Palser, Nathanael Palser, Josh Messaros, Richard Meyer and John Meyer.
