Granville Job Haines “Joby”, 65, of Troy, passed away Saturday morning, May 27, 2023 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1957, in Wabash, Indiana, to the late Bonnie (Bitzel) Haines.

Joby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana (Bowman) Haines of Troy; his children, Twila (David) Fair of Dayton, Holly (the late Willard Higgins Jr.) Haines of Troy, Ashley (the late Joel Higgins) Haines of Troy, and Dana (David) Pingleton of Sidney; brother William “Smoke” Haines of Piqua; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; foster mother Lauren Marcum of Pleasant Hill; special friends Bill & Anna Reed; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Joby was preceded in death by his foster father, James Marcum Jr.; his grandparents: James & Marie Marcum; brother Larry Haines; and uncle and aunt, Bill Pat & Bitzel.

Joby served in the U.S. Army from 1977-1980. He retired from Freisthler Paving of Sidney as a heavy machine operator. He was a member of the Legends Motorcycle Club. In addition to riding motorcycles, Joby loved to hunt, fish, and be outdoors.

Memorial services to honor his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Matt Harbour officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Online condolences may be left for the Haines family at moorefh.com.
