James Bayman

James E. “Jim” Bayman, 90, of Covington, passed away Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born May 27, 1935, in Troy, to the late Elmer and Minnie (Stephan) Bayman. He married Patty Lou (Caldwell) Bayman, a marriage which spanned 59 years; she preceded him death on August 20, 2022.

Jim is survived by his son Michael Bayman of Virginia; and good friend and neighbor Cyndi Bond of Covington. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Bayman; and a sister, Jane Tillman.

He was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for Hartzell Fan, as an over-the-road truck driver, and as an automobile ‘repo man’. Jim was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Piqua, Tempest Masonic Lodge of Sidney, and was a past member of the former Warren Lodge of Piqua.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Rachel Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may visit from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for at moorefh.com.
