John Fisher

John Martin Fisher, 93, of Troy, formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016, at his residence at Brookdale of Troy.  He was born August 1, 1923, in Covington, to the late Harley Medford and Sarah Agnes (Holfinger) Fisher.  He married Norma Mae (Denlinger) Fisher on January 5, 1947; she survives in Troy.

Mr. Fisher is also survived by two daughters, Wanda & Richard Reece of Peterstown, W.Va. and Jane Fisher of Covington; son-in-law Daryl Layman of Brookville; daughter-in-law Marilyn Fisher of Covington; brother, Elmer Fisher of Covington; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Fisher; daughter, Marilyn Layman; and brother and sister-in-laws, Lowell & Lola Fisher and Juanita Fisher.

Mr. Fisher was a retired farmer, a carpenter, and enjoyed woodworking.  He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 4, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 W. Farrington Rd., Covington.  Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S.
