Joyce Simon

Joyce E. Simon, 88, of Covington, passed away Monday morning, July 13, 2026, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, after a brief illness. She was born July 13, 1938, in Pleasant Hill, to the late Judson W. Hill Sr. and Clora Mae (Thompson) Hill Holsinger. She married Robert J. Simon Sr. on December 10, 1960; he preceded her in death on February 11, 2018.

She will be missed and remembered by her children, Deborah Scott of Cape Coral, Fla. and Robert Simon Jr. of Covington; five grandchildren, Samantha Scott, Josh Simon, Janell Tebbe, Justin Simon and Julianna Lucia; ­­­several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Boehringer of Covington. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Simon; and siblings Frances Brock, V. Jean Miller and Judson Hill Jr.

Joyce was a 1958 graduate of Covington High School and a longtime homemaker. She also had worked several years at K-Mart. She was active with her Class of ’58 alumni, and also enjoyed playing cards with her school friends. Joyce enjoyed breakfasts at Buffalo Jack’s and loved her grandchildren and spending time with her sister Judy.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Rev. Paul Hickernell officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at moorefh.com.
