Lois Reck

Lois J. Reck, 88, of Covington, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2024 at Brookdale of Piqua. She was born July 16, 1935, in Darke County, to the late David Owen and Marie E. (Reiber) Holfinger. She married Carl L. Reck on July 30, 1955; he survives.

She will also be missed and remembered by her children, Sandra (Mark) Morris of Huntsville and Daryl (Brenda) Reck of Covington; a daughter-in-law, Mindy Campbell of Springfield; six grandchildren, Justin (Jessi), Aaron, Alyssa, Matthew (Kirsten), Jessica and Kevin II; three great-grandchildren, Josie, Nolan and Aurora; and a brother, David (Kay) Holfinger of Versailles. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Reck; a grandson, Michael Reck; and siblings Franklin Holfinger and Ella Marie Selander.

Lois was a 1953 graduate of Bradford High School and was a longtime homemaker. She attended Covington Presbyterian Church, and was the nursery class Sunday School teacher for 40 years at the former Covington United Church of Christ. Lois enjoyed traveling with Carl, playing bingo, and was a prolific gardener.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Covington Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be left for the Reck family at moorefh.com.
