Lois L. Schaurer, 90, of Covington, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020, at Caldwell House of Troy. She was born June 17, 1930, in Darke County, to the late Charles and Effie (Bowman) Cottrell. She was united in marriage to Ralph J. Schaurer on June 20, 1948; he preceded her in death on August 4, 2016.
She will be missed and remembered by her children and their spouses, Rodney (Jerilyn) Schaurer of Covington, Marilyn (Harlan) Holsinger of Troy, Arlene (Keith) Brubaker of Eaton, Marlin (dec’d) (Charlene) Schaurer of Pleasant Hill, Dennis (Sherri) Schaurer of Hughson, CA, Kenneth (Kathy) Schaurer of Piqua, and Jenny (Jason) Brubaker of Modesto, CA; a sister, Evelyn Bowman of Arcanum; a brother, Pete (Linda) Cottrell of Arcanum; 24 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Carol (Marcus) Miller and Sandra (Bill) Knipe; and brother-in-law, Raymond (Mary Ann) Schaurer. Lois was preceded in death by her son, Marlin Schaurer; a brother, Linden Cottrell; and brothers-in-law Marvin Bowman and Byron Schaurer.
Lois was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School and worked on the family farm and as a homemaker. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening, and was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church-New Conference, Covington.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 Farrington Rd., Covington. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
