Madonna Heidenreich

Madonna Heidenreich

Madonna S. Heidenreich, 85, of Troy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice, Troy. She was born September 23, 1940, in Van Lear, Kentucky, to the late Wilburn Fairchild and Mary (Sammons) Johnston.

A graduate of Wayne High School, Madonna began her working years at Huber Homes before dedicating herself to raising her family. In her mid-life, she worked for Shaklee, served as a 4-H horse advisor, and enjoyed traveling across the country showing horses with her daughter. These were years defined by long drives, dedication and shared memories.

On September 23, 1961, she married Robert L. Heidenreich, the love of her life. Together they shared 56 years of marriage marked by loyalty, partnership, and perseverance, until Robert’s passing on December 11, 2017.

Madonna was a take-charge, fiercely independent woman. She said what she meant, meant what she said, and never softened the truth. She was a member of Huber Heights VFW #3283 Auxiliary, valued tradition, enjoyed watching Fox News, surfing the internet, shopping, and loved decorating for the holidays.

She is survived by her children, Christopher D. (Lisa) Heidenreich of Versailles, Gretchen L. Heidenreich (fiancé Shawn Rademachir) of Casstown, Erich J. (Chrisy) Heidenreich of Sidney, Craig R. (Kellie) Heidenreich of Piqua, and Gabriele (Jason) Chesko of Troy; her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Brittney Elsas, Brittany Huston & Greg Dauber, Ethan & Evan Heidenreich, Andrew, Austin, Colton, Zachery, Garrett & Maggie Kowalak, C.J., Cameron, & Nicholas Heidenreich, Lydia Schubert, Holden & Adelynn Chesko, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply and encouraged with the same strength she lived by.

Madonna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her sister, Linda Warlin; her stepfather, Bud Johnston; her beloved dog, Kipper; and numerous other loved ones who welcomed her home. She leaves behind her good friend and caregiver, Brenda Vanchure, who cared for Madonna in many ways. She also is survived by her loyal canine companion, Shadow, who remained by her side.

Madonna will be remembered for her honesty, grit, and unwavering determination. She lived boldly, spoke directly, and built a family that reflects her courage and character. Her influence is lasting—and her family carries it forward.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Rev. Eric Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at moorefh.com.

The family wishes the express heartfelt gratitude to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, especially the phenomenal nurses and aides whose gentle care, compassion and support over five weeks brought comfort and dignity to both Madonna and her family.
