Mark D. Masterson, 72, of Covington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2026, at his residence. He was born January 27, 1954, in Bluffton, Indiana. He was united in marriage with Judy (Hamrick) Masterson on August 4, 1979 in Decatur, Indiana; she survives.

Mark will also be missed and remembered by his children, Mandy (Michael) Rogers of Covington, Justin (Meryl) Masterson of Fishers, Ind., and Jon (Allie) Masterson of Arcanum; five grandchildren, Eden, Cruz & Nadia Masterson and Morgan & Millie Rogers; his stepmother, Harriet Masterson; siblings Gary (Bonnie) Masterson, David (Becky) Masterson, Barb (Lynn) Bradtmueller; step-siblings Jenny (Paul) Lacosse, Jill (David) Hamann, Val (Terry) Forker and Doug (Jenny) Edwards; sister-in-law Pam Masterson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Masterson; his mother and stepfather Margaret & Steve Stewart; and his brother Michael Masterson.

Mark was a 1972 graduate of Norwell High School in Ossian, Indiana. He gave his life to Christ at a young age and responded to God’s call to full-time ministry. He served in many roles and locations throughout his life and career in the ministry. Mark was a lecturer and academic dean at Jamaica Theological Seminary in the 1980s, having spent time in Jamaica as an exchange student during college.

He served 21 years as senior pastor of Creekside Community Church in Beavercreek, and was presently the lead pastor of Stonebridge Community Church in Piqua. He served as treasurer for many years on the Ludlow Falls Camp Board, spent many years as a counselor to kids at camp, and also coached countless little league teams. Mark loved spending time with his grandkids and being outside in nature, whether it be mowing or helping with the flower beds and garden. Most of all, he loved time spent simply being with the love of his life, Judy.
