Opal Leota (Blocher) Angle was born July 21, 1930, to James D. and Stella M. (Brubaker) Blocher at their home near the Eel River, Laketon, Indiana. She was the second of her parents’ two children, with a sister Carmen, and an older half-sister Janet. Opal married Clinton Edward Angle on December 2, 1947. After a brief stay near Covington, Ohio with Amos and Effie Montgomery, their first home was made on a small farm near Mexico, Ind.
Mom and Dad accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives and were baptized by Howard Flora on Good Friday, March 26, 1948, and became members of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in the Mexico District.
In February of 1954 they moved to the farm on Sugar Grove Road. Six children were born to Opal and Clint: James Clinton (friend Mary), William Thomas (Marla), Reynold Jay (Sue), Pamela Sue Bowman (Larry), Kenneth Eldon (Sherry), and Lisa June Peters (Wayne). They also have 20 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.
Mom was a farm wife and homemaker. In June 2018, Mom and Dad moved back to Mexico, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Clint; parents James and Stella Blocher; sister Carmen Skiles; half-sister Janet Laing-Meason; and daughter-in-law Marilyn Angle.
Mom passed to Eternity the exact moment her work on Earth was done on Thursday morning, June 6, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 Farrington Rd., Covington. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home, Covington. Online condolences may be left for the Angle family at moorefh.com.
