Raymond Schaurer

Raymond Lee Schaurer, age 91, of Covington Ohio, peacefully passed from this life to eternity at his home on August 31, 2025. He was born March 26, 1934 near Covington, Ohio to John H. and Mabel E. (Mohler) Schaurer. Ray was united in marriage to Mary Ann Stamy on December 6, 1959 in La Puente, California. Together they raised their four children and shared a life of over 65 years. They spent their entire married life in the Covington area, farming and raising beef cattle. Ray received his private pilot license before he was married and his love of flying stayed with him his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ralph and sister-in law Lois, infant sister Doris, and brother Byron. Also preceding him were his in-laws, Daniel and Lena Stamy; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Erma Rinehart, Lois Rumble, Hubert and Kenny Stamy and one great-granddaughter, Dezirae Rohrer.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children Sherry and Kenny Angle, Denise and Dirk Crosier, Carmen and Kris Wall and John and Diana Schaurer; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Sandy Schaurer Knipe; and many nieces and nephews. We know that our loss is his gain.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers that helped make it possible to care for dad at home. As well as Tracee and Janette, his hospice girls, that provided wonderful care during his last days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6360 W. Farrington Rd., Covington. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Covington. Friends may visit with the family from 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church. Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington.
