Richard Boehringer

Richard L. “Rich” Boehringer, 71, of Covington, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2023, at Piqua Manor. He was born April 20, 1951, in Piqua, to the late Harry Luther and Ellen Louise (Denning) Boehringer.

He is survived by a sister, Vicki Schwartz of Piqua; nephews Justin Schwartz and Matt (Allison) Schwartz; great-niece Avery Schwartz; uncle Steve Denning; several cousins; and friend Janet Puterbaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Schwartz.

Rich attended school at Newton and Franklin-Monroe. Through Riverside, he worked for many years in maintenance for the State of Ohio at the rest area along I-75 near Piqua. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. #4235, a member of Eagles #3998, all of Covington, and a member of Piqua Fish & Game. Rich enjoyed campfires at his home and at his camper at the Fish & Game, model trains, casino trips, and spending time eating with his friends at Buffalo Jack’s.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 19, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Robin Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
