Richard L. “Dick” Angle, 85, of Troy, a longtime resident of Covington, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born August 16, 1935, in Miami County, to the late Delmar and Janet (Stevenson) Angle. He married Jacquelyn “Jackie” (Locker) Angle on June 16, 1956; she survives.
He will also be missed and remembered by his five children, Kim (Dan) Smith of Punta Gorda, Fla., Rhonda (Patrick) Cooper of Covington, D. Scott Angle (Debi Padgett) of Tipp City, Bonnie (Walter) White of Covington, and Tim (Cindy) Angle of Covington; 11 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Phyllis Grove of Troy, Dale (Barbara) Angle of Troy, Wayne Angle of Covington, and Carl (Carolyn) Angle of Troy; and a brother-in-law, Keith Locker of Covington.
Dick was a 1953 graduate of Newton High School and a longtime member of the Covington Presbyterian Church. He worked many years for Miller Bros. Excavating and retired from the Village of Covington. Dick was also a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge of Troy, a member of the former Covington Lions Club, and served on the Covington Village Council with two years as Mayor. He was involved with the former Covington Youth Center and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and John Deere tractors.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Covington Presbyterian Church, 30 N. Pearl St., Covington, with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. Private family visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, with private burial in Miami Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Presbyterian Church.
