Robert L. “Bob” Stollmer, 83, of Troy, passed away Thursday evening, August 24, 2023, at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born January 21, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Raymond Stollmer and the late Clara (Krause) Stollmer Litke. He married his bride of 61 years, Ruth Ann (Kiehl) Stollmer on June 16, 1962; she survives.
Bob will also be missed and remembered by his children, Robert (Michelle) Stollmer of Piqua, and Roxanne (Adel) Hanna of Springboro; six grandchildren, Robert (Annie) Stollmer, Matthew (Keeley) Stollmer, Reagan, Ashton, Mitchell & Mason Hanna; two great-grandchildren, Beatrice & Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Stollmer.
Mr. Stollmer served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked 25 years for Hobart Corp. of Troy, then for Emerson, retiring from Whirlpool. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Tipp City, where he had served on the church council. He was an avid model railroader and also enjoyed golfing, having worked at Stillwater Golf Club in Versailles. Bob was a family man, and loved time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Dale Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, where military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County or Zion Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be left for the Stollmer family at moorefh.com.
