Age 70, of Covington passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at her home. She was born June 21, 1940, in Covington, to her parents George & Helen (Miller) Martin. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Harold Kingrey; sons and daughters-in-law Matt & Polly Kingrey of Greenville, Jason & Ivette Kingrey of Dale City, VA; daughters and son-in-law Beth Marshall of Piqua, Katie & Dan Sigley of Elkins, WV; grandchildren Abby & Kory Thomas, Chad Kingrey, Meredith & Madeline Marshall, Wesley, Matthew, Gabriel Kingrey, Chelsea Branson, Lilly, Isaiah Sigley; great granddaughter Riley Thomas. Ruby graduated from Covington High School Class of 1958 and continued her education at Edison State College. She worked as a rural mail carrier in Covington from 1979 until her retirement in 2001. She was well know and liked in the community through her involvement in activities like 4-H,Cub Scouts, and being a wrestling mom. She also was a volunteer with the AARP Tax Service Program. Ruby loved music and played the flute and played in a bell choir. She was known for her many recipes and ability to cook nearly anything to a delectable delight. Her interests included knitting, crochetting, gardening, reading, card club, and most important her family. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, February 28, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Pastor Jerry Collins will officiate with interment at Highland Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends and family from 1-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice, Greenville, or the charity of one's choice.
