Sally Murphey

Sally A. Murphey, 83, of Troy, passed away Sunday evening, May 11, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice, Troy. She was born November 25, 1941, in Dayton, to the late Robert and Fern (Brown) Markley. She married Ben H. Murphey on December 28, 1963; he survives.

She will also be missed and remembered by her daughter, Mickey Murphey of Troy; two grandchildren, Kyle Dunlap and Marshall Dunlap; two great-grandchildren, Catherine and Calvin; and two siblings, Bob Markley of Piqua and Katie Chambers of Arizona. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and her sisters, Betty Wells and Patty Markley.

Sally was a 1959 graduate of Piqua Central High School and worked for many years in the business office of the former Stouder and Dettmer hospitals. Sally loved the Lord and was an active member of Troy Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and relaxing in the sun. She loved being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved singing in church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Rich Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may visit from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Troy Gospel Tabernacle or Ohio’s Hospice. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
