Shirley Anne Hittle, 69, of Piqua, formerly of Covington, passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2025, at Piqua Manor, after a long illness. She was born August 19, 1955, in Smith Center, Kansas, to the late Walter R. and Opal Irene (Dimond) French.
She will be missed and remembered by her children, Adam Hittle of Dayton and Kari Hittle of Dayton; siblings Larry (Kathie) French of Piqua, Linda Whiting of Pleasant Hill and Randy (Kathy) French of Debary, Florida. She was preceded in death by siblings Pat Snider, Betty Woodward, Jerry French, Richard French; and her longtime significant other, David Wheat.
Shirley was a 1973 graduate of Covington High School and went on to earn her LPN license. She worked as a nurse for many years at the former Piqua Memorial Medical Center, and later for several assisted living homes.
A celebration of her life is being planned by her family for later this summer. Private burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Moore Funeral Home, Covington. Online condolences may be left for the Hittle family at moorefh.com.
