Sylvia Bosserman

Sylvia L. Bosserman, 91, of Covington, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 22, 2026, at Piqua Care Center. She was born June 18, 1934, in Miami County, to the late Orville and Harriet (Drees) DeWeese. She married Joseph Bosserman; he preceded her in death on October 24, 2010.

Sylvia will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Diane Litton (Larry Brittain) and Sara (James) Tobias, both of Covington; four grandchildren, April Com, Amber Wooten, Levi (Kandys) Pohlschneider and Luke (Brittany) Pohlschneider; and ten great-grandchildren, Ashley, Valentina, Mariano, Lizzie, Mya, Kaleb, Zoe, Brayden, Luka and Bennett.

She was a 1952 graduate of Covington High School where she was active in the band and orchestra, and was a longtime member of the Covington Christian Church. Sylvia was also a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed bowling. She had worked many years for Western Ohio Telephone, and owned and operated Sylvia’s Ceramic Studio for over 30 years. She was very crafty and enjoyed oil painting, sewing, crocheting, and attending arts & crafts shows. Sylvia also was a nature lover, especially her outdoor animals and hunting mushrooms. She had a heart of gold, and was loved by everyone who got the chance to know her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Highland Cemetery, 796 N. High St., Covington, with Pastor Dan Hathaway officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covington Christian Church.
