Thomas Brett Zimpher, 77, of Piqua, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 19, 2023, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born August 12, 1946, in Piqua, to the late James and Marjorie (Bughman) Zimpher. He married his wife of 55 years, Diane (King) Zimpher on June 29, 1968; she survives.
He will also be missed and remembered by a daughter, Tricia Eileen (James) Moorman of Piqua; two loving grandchildren, Darrien Stewart (fiancé Damian Elliott) and Myles Stewart; brother Jon Zimpher of Florida; sister-in-law Carolyn Gustin; and brother-in-law Albert Walter; and nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Preston Zimpher; sister Ann Zimpher Walter; brother James Zimpher; and brother-in-law Robert Covault.
Tom was a 1964 graduate of Piqua Central High School and attended school in Logan, Ohio for Linotype Operation. He retired from Post Printing of Minster after 50½ years of service in several different positions. Tom enjoyed his time off at their summer place at Grand Lake St. Marys, going boating, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the Minster Eagles #1391, Celina Moose #1473, and a former member of the Piqua Elks. He was also a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. Tom will be best remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, setting a wonderful example for his family.
Private services for his family are being conducted through Moore Funeral Home, Covington. Private burial will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.
