Velma M. Shefbuch Francis, 88, of Greenville, formerly of Covington and Piqua, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Ayden Healthcare of Greenville. She was born March 28, 1933, in Davenport, Iowa, to the late Carrie and Hallie (English) Raney.
She will be missed and remembered by her sons, Michael Dailing of Dayton, Bruce (Cheri) Shefbuch of Greenville, and Russell (Adelaida “Yaya”) Shefbuch of South Bend, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Shirley “Yogi” Shefbuch of Covington; and special friends Patricia & Richard Jordan, and Norma & Dave Eshman. Velma was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Velma was a past member of the former Piqua Moose and Piqua Eagles. She worked for Litton Electronics, Joint Hospital Services, and the Piqua Pizza Supply Company. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing marbles, square dancing, Western movies, gardening and canning, and loved spending time with her pet squirrel, Penny.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with her son, Pastor Russell Shefbuch officiating. Friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
