Walter Bayer

Walter B. Bayer, son of the late Ira F. and Mary (Benedict) Bayer, was born June 19, 1921 and passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the age of 99 years and 15 days. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Covington District.

On May 19, 1946 he married Ida Mae Denlinger. She passed away October 19, 1992. On May 14, 1994 he married Mildred (Hicks) Filbrun, whose union was broken with her passing on March 13, 2014. Also preceding him in death were a son Don, all his siblings and in-laws with their companions, a great-granddaughter and a step-daughter, Karen Miller.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sue Bayer, two sons, Lloyd and wife Denise and Duane and wife Bhronda; 12 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a stepson, Darryl and Janet Filbrun; a stepdaughter, Carla and Roland Miller, a stepson-in-law, Robert and Shirley Miller; 13 step-grandchildren and many step-great and step-great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Stillwater Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 5401 Salem Bend Dr., Trotwood. Burial will follow in Stillwater Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.
