Mary Hunt

Mary Matilda Hunt, 88, of Piqua, Ohio, went to sleep in our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was born on April 11, 1933, in Piqua, Ohio, to her father Jacob Freihofer and mother Bessie (Young) Freihofer.  She graduated from Piqua High School. On June 29, 1958, she married Jack Harold Hunt, to whom she was married until his death in 1994.

Mary was a proud former long-term employee of both Ohio Bell in Western Ohio and St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. She was a big fan of birds of all kinds, Grandma Moses paintings, Bob Evans dinners, Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, Englebert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Celtic Thunder, her three beloved lunch companions, along with her fierce devotion to Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo.

Mary is survived by her son Ben (Ella), her daughter LuAnn, her five grandchildren Jessica, Noah, Nehemiah, Charis, and Ethan, and she was preceded in passing by her granddaughter Sophia.

Honoring Mary's request, there will be no public funeral or memorial service held, only a private graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, attended by her family.
